Three modes of climate change since the Last Glacial Maximum in arid and semi-arid regions of the Asian continent

چکیده
The westerly winds and East Asian summer monsoon play a leading role in climate change of southwestern North America eastern Asia since the Last Glacial Maximum (LGM), respectively. Their convergence arid semi-arid regions continent (AAC) makes regional more complicated on millennial-scale. There are still limitations applying paleoclimate records simulations characteristic periods to investigate patterns LGM this region. In study, we adopt two indexes indicating effective moisture rely continuous simulation, time slice numerous comprehensively modes their driving mechanisms AAC. Results demonstrate millennial-scale differentiation phenomenon three possibly occurring AAC LGM. western largely controlled by is featured as wet climates during but relatively dry mid-Holocene (MH), coinciding with mode America. Conversely, conditions MH reflected governed monsoon, which leans Asia. If central forced interaction circulations, it expresses both MH, tending combination American modes. Precipitation evaporation exert different intensities influencing periods. Furthermore, identify significant effects greenhouse gases ice sheets westerly-dominated zones AAC, while orbit-driven insolation monsoon-dominated

Investigating the interaction between rivers and sand dunes in arid and semi-arid regions of Iran
Extended abstract 1- Introduction Fluvial and aeolian processes are important factors in changing the surface of morphology in the Earth. When rivers and sand dunes meet, the transportation of sediment between them can lead to one of the systems or both of them change. With their connection between river sediment and wind systems there would be lots of reactions, but very little has been st...
متن کاملThe Landscape as a Unit for Rangeland Inventory in Arid and Semi-arid Regions of Iran
Severe range degradation was critically extended in many region of Iran and caused many rangelands were restricted and interwoven with croplands in a complex system. Therefore, rangeland planning and inventory as an isolated activity has become almost impossible. Current landscape planning involves contributions of different social organizations often with different interests and with different...
متن کاملTrend analysis and detection of precipitation fluctuations in arid and semi-arid regions
The most important impacts of climate change relate to temperature and precipitation. Precipitation is particularly important, because changes in precipitation patterns may lead to floods or droughts in different areas. Also, precipitation is a major factor in agriculture and in recent years interest has increased in learning about precipitation variability for periods of months to annual and s...
متن کاملAssessing the Vulnerability of the Land Using the IDI Combination Model in Arid and Semi arid Regions (Khorasan Razavi)
Land vulnerability one of the major global challenges as an objective case of degradation of arid, semi-arid and semi-humid ecosystems caused by natural processes and human activities. However, in order to assess the vulnerability of the land, it is necessary to know exactly the degree of tolerance of ecosystems and the use of indigenous knowledge systems to external conditions. The present stud...
متن کاملConceptual and numerical models of the evolution of pedogenic carbonates in soils of arid and semi-arid regions: A review
Introduction Calcareous soils are widely distributed in arid and semi-arid regions of the world and the presence of carbonates in the soils affects both physicochemical properties and the pedogenic evolution. In addition, soil carbon plays a critical role in the global carbon cycle, and pedogenic carbonates are an important sink for atmospheric carbon. Pedogenic carbonates are also the proxy o...
